New chains are a goldmine and in similar fashion, very difficult to know where the gold is. That’s why we have created the Base chain repo. Below is a brief overview of each protocol/project that is currently live on Base, along with a summary of their purpose.
Friend.tech: a mobile-based social media platform with a cryptocurrency twist. The app markets itself as "the marketplace for your friends" on its website. Much like other, non-crypto social media platforms that are in beta — like BlueSky — Friend.tech requires users to have an invite code from other users in order to sign up.
Friend.tech provides each user with their own Telegram-like chat group. In order for others to enter a user's private group chat, they need to buy shares in that user. If and when they decide to leave that group chat, they can sell those shares to other users.
BaseSwap: Trade directly from your Coinbase wallet. Unlike centralized exchanges such as Binance or Coinbase, Base Swap ensures you retain 100% ownership of your crypto throughout the trade. Your assets, always in your control. They offer yield farming, two native tokens and more.
BasePaint: BasePaint is an art project to celebrate the launch of Base. Artists collaborate on a shared pixel art canvas. Every 24 hours, the canvas is minted as an open edition NFT. Artists are paid out from the open edition mint proportionally, based on the number of pixels they painted.
Onchain Summer: To celebrate the general availability launch of Base on August 9th 2023, they’re kicking off Onchain Summer, a month-long onchain festival put on by 50 of the best builders, brands, products, artists, and creators. Every day in August, they’ll be bringing you something fun thing to do onchain, highlighting art, music, gaming, advocacy, and more.
