Partnerships šŸ¤ Pumps šŸš€ and Perspectives šŸ‘€

Keeping your eyes on the prize and cancel out the noise.

ā€œIt is the not the strongest species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the most responsive to change.ā€ - Charles Darwin

In today’s email:

  • Partnerships Microsoft and Aptos aim to bring AI to web3 šŸ¤

  • Pumps Rollbit and Unibot can’t be stopped this week šŸš€

  • Perspectives listening to the noise will cost you the most šŸ‘€

  • SEC is big mad about Ripple 😔

PARTNERSHIPS

Microsoft Office (where they probably got the deal done…top right)

Partnerships in crypto are usually pointless talking points that do nothing other than bring attention to a project for a maximum of three days. This one is a little bit different.

To understand why you should care, you need to look at the players involved - no, not just Microsoft and Aptos - more so, who Aptos is and who else is involved with them.

  • The Aptos team was part of the old Libra team.

  • Libra was Mark Zuckerberg’s crypto project for then Facebook (meta).

  • Aptos largest investor is a16z.

  • a16z is owned by Andreessen Horowitz. Andreessen Horowitz is famous for his early investment in Facebook.

  • Facebook’s longest running tech partnership is with Bing/Microsoft.

  • Mark changed Facebook’s name to meta….

Are we saying that Aptos is a Zuck project?… No, not at all. What we are saying is that Silicon Valley has checked in to play in the crypto space and this is kind of a big deal.

The Valley is good at three things crypto is not so good at:

Growth
While current crypto absolutely SUCKS at marketing and user acquisition, the gents from the Valley have a real knack for front loading users for the long game. For reference, please see user counts of Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, or anything else they build.

Patience
While crypto has the patience of a newborn puppy, Silicon Valley has strategically hit its mark time and time again. They know when to grow and they know when to make money. This is a massive positive for their crypto projects.

Business
I don’t think we need to argue for the case that any team from Silicon Valley knows a thing or two about actual business.

TLDR: Silicon Valley are suits, but very talented suits. Their tokens will perform over time. Aptos isn’t the only Facebook team working on a crypto project. Keep an eye on our Weekend Report for a better rundown of who in the Valley is building what. Remember, we ARE the most connected newsletter in crypto after all šŸ˜‰.

PUMPS

Rollbit and Unibot have been SENDING this week. Rollbit announced new tokenomics to increase awareness and value, and Unibot… well, Unibot is doing what Unibot should do.

Why bring up these two?
Two reasons:
A. We are petty af and love being right - more important, though, is B.
B. Attention and marketing goes a REALLY long way in this space. The simple announcement was able to send RBL up enough ticks to make any holder wish that they held just a little bit more… while you can not go anywhere on X without seeing Unibot literally everywhere.

This buffer is to bring a little bit of excitement for a newsletter we are putting out this week that solely focuses on marketing in crypto and the optics it creates. We will be breaking down the anatomy of long-term value vs the pumps. So, look forward to reading that one later this week. The entire Newsletter will be dedicated to it.

PERSPECTIVES

One of the hardest things to form in crypto is a logical perspective. With an echo chamber of noise on X and in Discords, it’s extremely hard to know your own perspectives and stick to them. We have something to help you with that. If you ever question your macro perspective, just look at the below image. We recommend that you save this image to your phone, desktop, email it to yourself and post it to your socials… JUST IN CASE.

SEC 😔

The US Securities and Exchange Commission said it intends to challenge a federal judge's ruling that Ripple Labs Inc.'s XRP token isn't a security when sold to the general public.
